FAQs
Have questions ? We have answers.
How can I donate a computer or tech equipment?
We accept laptops, desktops (working or repairable), monitors, chargers, and accessories. To schedule a pickup or drop-off, contact us or email info@macir.org.
Can I request a computer or hotspot?
MACIR students may be eligible for a free laptop and internet access, depending on availability. Individuals from other organizations must go through their program coordinators—MACIR can only provide free technology to students or clients if their organization has an existing partnership with MACIR. However, all students, regardless of affiliation, are welcome to purchase low-cost refurbished laptops and access heavily discounted Microsoft Office licenses directly through MACIR.
How can I enroll in MACIR’s Tech Support Training Program?
MACIR’s 8-week Tech Support Job Program is listed on the Massachusetts Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL). Interested participants can contact their local MassHire Career Center to apply. Once approved, MACIR will receive a training voucher, and participants can begin the program. We also offer customized training for partner organizations that manage their own recruitment. If you represent an organization looking to train your members, please reach out to discuss partnership opportunities at info@macir.org.
Are my donations tax-deductible?
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.
Do you work with schools, libraries, or nonprofits?
Absolutely. We partner with institutions to supply bulk devices, train staff as digital navigators, and deliver community-based tech programs. Email info@macir.org to explore partnerships.
Where do you operate?
MACIR is based in Massachusetts and currently supports communities across Greater Boston, the North Shore, and Gateway Cities. We’re also expanding to serve more regions through local partnerships. For those outside our service areas, MACIR can ship low-cost computers ordered through our website, making digital access more widely available.
