Please note the Tech Support job role places great emphasis on the ability to follow instructions. Hence, your application will be evaluated based on your adherence to the registration process outlined below. It is crucial to carefully follow these steps to ensure a thorough review of your application.
Step1: Complete an Online Registration Form
When completing the application, use a single email address that will not expire before your desired term of entry, as it will be used for all correspondence from the Office of Admission.
Upon successful registration in MACIR’s program, you will promptly receive a confirmation email containing your default password and an invitation to undertake the Math and English tests. In case you do not receive the confirmation email, kindly check your Spam folder as it might have been filtered there.
To access the MACIR website as a student, simply use your email as the username and enter the default password provided. For security purposes, we recommend changing your password once you login through MACIR’s web portal. Please note that our system has been designed to ensure the security of your data and to prevent any attempts at cheating during the tests.
Step 3: Take the Math and English Tests
When you are ready to take the tests, please ensure that you allocate a dedicated hour on your computer for each test. It is crucial not to navigate away from the test page until you have submitted your answers, as doing so will result in automatic logout and a score of 0.
Furthermore, we strongly advise against taking the tests on your phone. Notifications from other applications on your phone may inadvertently log you out, resulting in a score of 0. It is essential to minimize any potential distractions during the test-taking process.
Lastly, the passing grade for each test is set at 60. Aim to achieve or exceed this score to successfully pass each respective test which will allow you to schedule an interview which is the final stage in your admission process.
After successfully passing the mandatory English and Math tests, it is important to log in to your account and proceed with scheduling an interview. Following the scheduling process, you will receive a confirmation email containing a Zoom link for the interview. Kindly mark your calendar to ensure you are available at the scheduled time.
In the event that you are unable to attend the interview at the designated time, please cancel your appointment through the App 24 hours ahead of time or notify the administration in advance.
Step 5: Final Decision
Once the interview has been conducted, kindly allow sufficient time for the processing of your application. Prior to the commencement of the session, an email will be sent to you, containing our final decision and providing you with the necessary steps to join the orientation session, should you be selected.
In the event that you are not selected, we highly encourage you to consider applying for future sessions. Please be aware that each session receives a large volume of applications, and unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate all applicants due to space and scholarship limitations. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
Pre-Requirements
Good communication skills is a key differentiator when it comes to hiring decisions.
Verbal communication is relatively more important than written for entry-level IT support jobs — min level 6 out of 10. The recommended level is 8.
Written communication is also important as you have to document issues and resolutions using ticketing systems – minimum level 5 out of 10. The recommended level is 7.
If your spoken and written skill level is below the minimum score listed above, it is highly recommended you pursue a separate English language-speaking course – before or along with the IT Support program.
Practice conversations with someone who is proficient in English for at least 45 minutes per day.
